Mike Brooks

Mike Brooks is Head of the Diversified Multi-Asset team at Aberdeen Standard Investments. The team manages a range of highly diversified portfolios investing in a broad universe of expanding asset classes including listed equities, private equity, property, infrastructure, high yield bonds, loans, emerging market debt, asset backed securities, alternative risk premia, insurance linked securities, litigation finance, peer-to-peer lending, aircraft leasing, trade finance, farmland and healthcare royalties.

Mike joined Aberdeen Asset Management in 2015 from Baillie Gifford where he was an Investment Manager in the Diversified Growth team. Mike co-founded the Diversified Growth strategy at Baillie Gifford in 2008, playing a leading role in the development of the philosophy and process, as well as the ongoing management of the fund and in the successful expansion of the client base to over £5 bn of AUM.

Mike joined Baillie Gifford in 2000 as Head of Investment Risk. Prior to this he was Head of Quantitative Research at Aegon Asset Management. Mike graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot Watt University. Mike is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries.

Thomas Moore

Thomas is Senior Investment Director in the UK Equities team of Aberdeen Standard Investments. Within his role, Thomas’ responsibilities include managing the UK Equity Income Unconstrained Fund and Aberdeen Standard Equity Income Trust. He is also responsible for analysing the Financial Services sector. Thomas joined the UK Equity Team of Standard Life Investments in 2002. Previously Thomas began his career in 1998 at Schroders in UK Equities.

Thomas holds a BA and is an Associate of the CFA Society of the UK

Luke Hickmore

Luke Hickmore

Luke Hickmore is a Senior Investment Manager on Pan European Credit team at Aberdeen Standard Investments, where he is responsible for a range of credit mandates including Sterling and Euro benchmarked investment grade and unconstrained bond asset allocation funds. Luke joined Aberdeen Asset Management following the acquisition of the SWIP business in April 2014.

Luke passed his Chartered Securities & Investment Institute exams 1994 becoming a member in that year and progressed to a Fellow of the institute in 1997.

Brian Strachan

Brian Strachan

Brian is an Investment Director at Aberdeen Standard Investments. Brian joined Standard Life Investments in 2013 as a multi-asset investment specialist where he was responsible for supporting the expansion of the risk based funds proposition. Engaging regularly with adviser clients and ratings agencies, he also works closely with the distribution, marketing and governance functions to ensure the product suite remains fit for purpose. Brian joined from Fidelity Investment where he was a sales manager covering Scotland and Northern Ireland, having previously worked for Insight Investment and Santander Asset management in sales and client manager roles.

Paul Diggle

Paul Diggle

Paul Diggle is a Senior Research Economist at Aberdeen Standard Investments. Paul is responsible for our European economic analysis and forecasting, as well as our research into long term growth drivers, structural economic trends, and the output gap. Paul joined Aberdeen Asset Management in 2015 from Capital Economics, where he covered the US and UK economies. Previously, Paul worked for Volterra Partners, where he developed Basel II capital adequacy models for retail banks.

Paul’s undergraduate studies were at the University of Oxford, where he graduated with an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. His postgraduate studies were at Birkbeck, University of London, where he graduate with an MSc in Economics. He holds the Investment Management Certificate.

Sarah Norris

Sarah Norris

Sarah provides research coverage of the European Healthcare Equipment & Services and Software & Computer Services sectors, contributing investment ideas to the wider team and participating in peer review discussions. She is the lead portfolio manager on the European Ethical Equity Fund and co-portfolio manager on the Global Equity Impact Fund.

Sarah joined Standard Life Investments (now Aberdeen Standard Investments) in 2011 as a member of the European Equity Team. Sarah previously worked at Referendum Ready, a non-profit campaign that partnered with the Government of Southern Sudan Mission prior to independence. She continues to work with Impact Sudan, a non-profit organisation based in the US that supports education and community development projects in South Sudan. Sarah has 7 years’ experience at both a firm and industry level.

Sarah has an MA (Hons) in International Relations and MLitt Peace and Conflict Studies, both from St Andrews University.
