Paul Diggle

Paul Diggle

Senior Research Economist

Paul Diggle is a Senior Research Economist in the Aberdeen Standard Investments Research Institute. He undertakes top-down research in macroeconomics and across asset classes, regions and countries in order to generate investment insights. Paul joined Aberdeen Asset Management in 2015 from Capital Economics, where he sat on the US and UK economics desks. He started his career at Volterra Partners, where he developed credit risk models for retail banks under Basel II Pillar 1 regulations.

Paul graduated with an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from the University of Oxford, and went on to gain an MSc in Economics from Birkbeck, University of London.

Senior Investment Director

Wes’ responsibilities include managing the UK Equity Unconstrained strategy across a number of vehicles, plus analysing the Media and Gambling sectors.

Wes first joined Standard Life Investments in 1999, prior to the creation of the Aberdeen Standard Investments. He joined the UK Equity Team where he was responsible for the management of a wide range of institutional mandates, including the creation and launch of the UK Equity Unconstrained Strategy. He joined Odey Asset Management in 2012, rejoining Standard Life Investments in October 2012 as part of the Global Equity Team. In April 2015, he moved to the UK Equity Team. Wes has 18 years' of experience in the industry, and has an MA and CFA Charterholder.

Senior Investment Manager

Sean Flanagan is a Senior Investment Manager in the Diversified Multi-Asset team. Sean joined Aberdeen Standard Investments as a result of the merger between Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life in August 2017. Sean joined Aberdeen in 2015 from Standard Life Investments where he was an Investment Manager in the Multi-Asset and Macro Investing team. Previously, Sean worked for Kames Capital where he was an Investment Manager in the Multi-Asset Group. Prior to that, Sean worked within the legal profession and as a Stock Analyst at Moore Europe Capital Management.

Brian joined Standard Life Investments in 2013 as a multi-asset investment specialist, prior to the creation of the Aberdeen Standard Investments brand covering the combined investment businesses following the merger of Standard Life plc and Aberdeen Asset Management PLC in 2017. Brian was charged with supporting the expansion of our risk based funds proposition. Engaging regularly with adviser clients and ratings agencies, he also works closely with the distribution, marketing and governance functions to ensure the product suite remains fit for purpose. Brian joined from Fidelity Investment where he was a sales manager covering Scotland and Northern Ireland, having previously worked for Insight Investment and Santander Asset management in sales and client manager roles.

Real Estate Investment Specialist

Euan joined Standard Life Investments in March 2008 as an Institutional Client Manager in the Global Client Relationship Management Team. During his time here Euan was responsible for managing relationships with institutional clients from across the globe.

In June 2012 Euan joined the Wholesale Investment Technical Team as a Wholesale Investment Analyst. During his time here Euan took the lead role covering a number of different asset classes such as Fixed Income, Absolute Returns and Real Estate.

In September 2014, Euan joined the Global Investment Specialists team who are responsible for bridging and co-ordinating between Standard Life Investments’ real estate investment, global sales, marketing and client relationship management teams. The team are also responsible for raising capital from specialist global real estate investors and consultants, and for developing new real estate strategies and solutions with our fund management team, as well as ensuring our existing funds and products are fit for purpose and best in class.

Euan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot Watt University in 2005 and completed his Chartered Financial Analyst exams in June 2014.

Mark started the lang cat from a cupboard in 2010 with only a computer, a phone and a seething hatred of corporate life for company. Expert on all things platforms, pension and investment-related. Prolific writer and international public speaker, even when people ask him not to be. Knows more about Finnish black metal than you, and not afraid to show it.
