Abby Glennie is an Investment Director at Aberdeen Standard Investments. She is responsible for the UK Opportunities, Aberdeen Smaller Companies Income Trust, and Smaller Companies Pension Fund. Abby joined Standard Life in 2013 from Kames Capital where she was an Investment Analyst.

Abby graduated with a joint 1st MA, in Economics and Finance from University of Aberdeen and is a CFA charterholder.

Alex Hoctor Duncan

Alex Hoctor-Duncan

Global Sales Director

Alex Hoctor-Duncan is Global Sales Director and Head of EMEA distribution, and is in responsible for co-ordinating the sales activity globally, at Aberdeen Standard Investments. Alex joined Aberdeen Standard Investments in 2018 from Blackrock where he was Head of the EMEA Retail business.

Previously, Alex worked for Mercury Asset Management and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers which are now both parts of Blackrock.

Senior Investment Manager

Andrew Lister is a Senior Investment Manager at Aberdeen Standard Investments, with specific responsibilities for markets and investments in Latin America and the EMEA region. Andrew joined Aberdeen Asset Management in December 2015 via the acquisition of Advance Emerging Capital Limited where he had worked since 2000.

Andrew graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA in Geography in 1999. He completed the Investment Management Certificate in 2001 and qualified as a technical analyst in 2005.

Head of UK Equities

Andrew Millington is Head of UK Equities for Aberdeen Standard Investments. Within his role, Andrew is responsible for the management of the UK Equity Team and performance, he is also responsible for the management of the Corporate UK Equity Fund and several other UK equity segregated mandates. Andrew joined Standard Life Investments in 2008 as Investment Director in the UK Equity Team. Previously, Andrew Andrew began his career in 2004 at Baillie Gifford as an Analyst in the North American Equities Team before moving to the Emerging Markets Team in 2005. In 2006, Andrew joined the UK Equities Team as an Analyst before being appointed Investment Manager in 2007. Andrew holds a BA, CFA, IMC.

Head of European Equities

Ben Ritchie is the Head of European Equities at Aberdeen Standard Investments. Ben originally joined Aberdeen Asset Management in 2002 on the graduate scheme. Ben graduated with a BA (Hons) in Modern History and Politics from Pembroke College, University of Oxford and is a CFA Charterholder.

Global Head of Equities

Devan Kaloo is Global Head of Equities and Head of Global Emerging Markets Equities for Aberdeen Standard Investments. Devan joined Aberdeen in 2000 as part of the Asian equities team in Singapore, before later transferring to London where he took up the position of Head of Global Emerging Markets Equities in 2005. In 2015 he was promoted to Global Head of Equities and joined Aberdeen’s Group management board. Devan started in fund management with Martin Currie in 1994 covering Latin America, before subsequently working with the North American equities, global asset allocation and eventually the Asian equities teams.

Devan graduated with an MA (Hons) in International Relations and Management from the University of St Andrews and has a postgraduate diploma in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling.

Duncan Moir

Senior Investment Manager

Duncan Moir is a Senior Investment Manager on the Alternative Investment Strategies team and head of systematic, managing systematic and index solutions including alternative risk premia and alternative beta products. Duncan joined Aberdeen Standard Investments as a result of the merger between Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life in August 2017. Duncan joined Aberdeen in 2008 as a graduate before transferring to the Hedge Fund Solutions Team and has previously covered research of systematic, long/short equity, global macro and event driven strategies.

Duncan graduated with a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Strathclyde. He is a CFA® and CAIA charter holder.

Euan Anderson

Real Estate Investment Specialist

Euan is a Real Estate Investment Specialist within the Global Investment Specialist Team, co-ordinating between the real estate investment teams and global sales and marketing teams at Aberdeen Standard Investments. He joined Standard Life Investments in 2008 from Baillie Gifford. Euan has a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot Watt University in 2005, and completed his Chartered Financial Analyst exams in June 2014.

Chief Economist

Jeremy Lawson is Head of the Research Institute at Aberdeen Standard Investments. The Institute was founded to oversee and promote sophisticated conjunctural and scenario analysis, as well as fundamental research at the intersection of economics, politics, policy and markets. Jeremy joined Standard Life in 2013 from BNP Paribas in New York where he was a Senior US economist. Previously, Jeremy worked for the OECD in Paris where he was Head of the Hungary/Slovenia desk. Prior to that, Jeremy worked for the Reserve Bank of Australia as a Senior Research Economist.

Jeremy has been a professional macroeconomist for seventeen years and has held a range of senior positions in both the public and private sectors. He began his career at the Reserve Bank of Australia, where rose to the position of Senior Research Economist. He then joined the OECD in Paris, where he worked extensively on European public policy issues and was the Head of the Hungary/Slovenia desk. In 2010 Jeremy joined the Institute of International Economics as the Deputy Director of Global Macroeconomics before moving on to BNP Paribas as a Senior US economist, specialising in Fed policy, as well as fiscal issues and inflation. Jeremy was the Chief Economist of Standard Life Investments for five years before becoming the head of the newly formed ASI Research Institute. The Institute was founded to oversee and promote sophisticated conjunctural and scenario analysis, as well as fundamental research at the intersection of economics, politics, policy and markets.

Jeremy graduated with a MSc in Public Financial Policy from the London School of Economics.

Mike Brooks

Head of Diversified Multi-Asset

Mike Brooks is Head of the Diversified Multi-Asset team at Aberdeen Standard Investments. The team manages a range of highly diversified portfolios investing in a broad universe of expanding asset classes including listed equities, private equity, property, infrastructure, high yield bonds, loans, emerging market debt, asset backed securities, alternative risk premia, insurance linked securities, litigation finance, peer-to-peer lending, aircraft leasing, trade finance, farmland and healthcare royalties.

Mike joined Aberdeen Asset Management in 2015 from Baillie Gifford where he was an Investment Manager in the Diversified Growth team. Mike co-founded the Diversified Growth strategy at Baillie Gifford in 2008, playing a leading role in the development of the philosophy and process, as well as the ongoing management of the fund and in the successful expansion of the client base to over £5 bn of AUM.

Mike joined Baillie Gifford in 2000 as Head of Investment Risk. Prior to this he was Head of Quantitative Research at Aegon Asset Management. Mike graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot Watt University. Mike is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries.

Roubesh Adaya works as a Senior Investment Specialist within the Emerging Markets Fixed Income Team, based in London at Aberdeen Standard Investments. He started his career within the Portfolio Management Group at ABN AMRO Asset Management in 2007. He subsequently became an investment specialist at BNP Paribas Investment Partners before joining bfinance in 2013 as Head of Fixed Income research. Roubesh joined Standard Life Investments in 2016 and is seated next to the Emerging Market Debt Team in London. Roubesh graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Accounting & Finance from the University of Warwick.

Senior Political Economist

Stephanie Kelly is the Senior Political Economist at Aberdeen Standard Investments Research Institute. She leads the politics, policy and ESG research stream for the Institute, specialising in US, European and UK political and policy analysis. Stephanie is responsible for the construction of the ASI political risk framework and scenario process, as well as the ASI global ESG index. She is also a regular commentator on the implications of political risk for investors in print media and television. Stephanie sits on the CFA UK Scotland Committee and the co-founded the CFA Gender Diversity Network Scotland. Stephanie holds a BA(Hons) in Economics and Politics and an MSc in International Politics from Trinity College Dublin, with research experience from Sciences Po, Paris and the University of British Columbia.

Thomas is Senior Investment Director in the UK Equities team of Aberdeen Standard Investments. Within his role, Thomas’ responsibilities include managing the UK Equity Income Unconstrained Fund and Aberdeen Standard Equity Income Trust. He is also responsible for analysing the General Financials and Private Equity sectors. Thomas joined the UK Equity Team of Standard Life Investments in 2002. Previously Thomas began his career in 1998 at Schroders in UK Equities.
